Administrative Opportunities

ICD is seeking a new member of our leadership team! The position is flexible in terms of skills necessary, but the organization is in need of expertise in communications, development (both grant-writing and fundraising), and program administration. Preference for candidates with experience in DEI-related work and music-related work. The position is remote and project-based, with an average workload of 5 hours per week with a small stipend available. Research Fellow Opportunities

The Institute for Composer Diversity is seeking research fellows with a passion for equity and diversity in music programming. Research Fellows are those looking to grow their personal knowledge of music by composers from underrepresented groups and to make a difference in the accessibility of that knowledge to others. Graduate students or professionals studying or practicing music performance or education or those with an interest in working with data are encouraged to apply. Fellows are sought for work on ICD’s genre databases in the areas of choral, orchestral, wind band and art song, as well as with ICD’s Composer Diversity Database.

To apply: Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Please submit a resume or CV and introductory email to Alana Richardson at helena@composerdiversity.com. Applicants should specify which fellowship they are applying to: choral, orchestral, windband, art song, or Composer Diversity Database, or whether they are interested in multiple positions. Selected candidates will be asked to participate in a Zoom meeting with ICD staff. People from underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged to apply. 

Internship Opportunities

Graduate and undergraduate students with experience or training in music are welcome to apply for an internship or work study opportunity with ICD. Options exist for work study partnership or credit-bearing internships with the student's college where programs exist, or individual internships directly with ICD. Hours are flexible and remote and can be scheduled during the semester or over breaks. Current open internships are listed below. ART SONG INTERNSHIPS

The Institute for Composer Diversity Art Song Works Database is seeking interns with a passion for equity and diversity in music programming. Undergraduate and graduate students studying voice or those with intimate knowledge of the voice are encouraged to apply. For more information about available internship options, please click here.

Collegiate Choral Research Project

The ICD Collegiate Choral Research Project allows a college instructor working with an entire class to get involved with ICD through the model of a research project that can be incorporated into the instructor's curriculum.
